Back to Montréal Tomorrow Morning

Catherine has been having seizures every day for the last while and sometimes more than one a day.  An opening became available for a visit with her neurologist in Montréal tomorrow at 10:00.  So we will be up and out by 6:00 a.m.  Jérémie will be taking care of tomorrow evening’s prayer meeting.  Thank you for yor prayers!

Christmas Program/Prayer Update

You can access our latest prayer update here.

The Christmas Program went very well.  Around 80 in attendance with at least 15 visitors!  Thank you for praying!

Wedding Tomorrow and Health Matters

We would appreciate your prayer for a wedding to be held in our church tomorrow. The bride is daughter to one of our deacons and the groom is son to a pastor of a sister church near Montreal. We expect about 150 to attend, including many unbelievers from the area who are related to the bride. Christian weddings are a genuine testimony in a land where marriage is now considered passé, even taboo by many. Pray for Benoit Guillot who will be preaching the message. I will also have a part as will the groom’s father, Mario Roy.

Hope to get out a new prayer letter next week. Melanie spent several days at the Montreal Neurological Institute recently but this time with Stephanie, not Catherine. Yes, Stephanie has begun to have mild epileptic seizures with her pregnancy. Do pray for her and her and Jeremie. More later!

Serious Accident at Summer Camp

To compliment our recent e-mail update, we offer this link to our church blog where you will find links to newspaper articles with pictures.  You’ll have to wade through the French!

Our Daughter, Valerie Sandquist

In our recent e-mail update, we made reference to the team that came in May from Calvary Baptist Church, Greer, S.C. where Valerie is director of the daycare ministry.  We thought you might be interested in this article that appears on Calvary’s site.  Please pray for this church and it’s new pastor!  What a joy to see God using our daughter and her family there!

Update on Catherine

The Clancy family will soon be headed back to Idaho for a few more months of deputation before beginning ministry in the Congo.  Since Catherine has been tutoring Mindy she will now need another job.  As you can imagine, finding one that is compatible with her health situation could be a challenge.  Do pray with us about this.  As I write, she is being interviewed for a job at a major department store.

“That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak”

The other day Mike was contacted by a missionary working in West Africa about using our web-available sermons on a new radio station there. What a wonderful joy and privilege it is to preach the Word of God in the French language!

“Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ…: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.” (Colossians 4:3-4 AV)

Live Broadcast of Wedding

This week is the big week for Stephanie and Jeremie!  We’d ask you to pray for the many who will be traveling either by car, bus or plane. Pray that God will be glorified through all that takes place. You may tune in to a live broadcast of the wedding beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 18th.  You may watch below or by going to the ustream.tv site.

Wedding Bells!

Amy and Benoit
Amy and Benoit

We already announced our daughter Stephanie’s engagement to Jérémie Savard in a previous e-mail update. But, we are also delighted that God has led Benoit Guillot and Amy Templeton together for His glory. Benoit is quite busy these days catching up at his government job and moving into a new apartment after a year’s sabbatical for seminary. Like Jérémie, Amy is a graduate of Northland. In fact, it was Jérémie that introduced her to Benoit! Amy is the daughter of Missionary Stanley Templeton and grew up helping her parents in their ministry in Peru. The wedding is to take place in Pennsylvania on November 6th. Do pray for Amy as she will be adjusting soon to a language, culture and climate quite different from South America.  Of course, she already has the wonderful advantage of being an MK!

It is the desire of both these young couples to be a part of the ministry team in the work here. This of course, is very exciting and encouraging for us!

Renovation Project 2010 Finally Done!

Yes, by about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 4th, Renovation Project 2010 was finally done!  This was just in time for the official reopening of our auditorium on Sunday, the 5th.  It was a wonderful time with around 75 in attendance including several who do not know the Lord.  Please pray for one young woman in particular with whom we have had contact since May.  Pray that the contact will continue to develop.  Here is a video of the last few weeks culminating in the service on Sunday.
